People are smarter...but they're also lazy. In this age it's easier to let the information just come to us and run with it than to actually do some research and get the whole story....even if it does come from a bad source.
I disagree with Diva. I don't think that people are any smarter. I certainly don't think they are any more sophisticated.
What has happened is that the once long established order and purpose of news media has changed. It is now a corporate arm of big buisness and required to turn a profit. As far as gov't leaders are concerned, they listen to the voices in the winds and take the noise that they hear as reliable.
I think it is odd how almost defiant W. was during the aftermath of Katrina about Mike Brown and contrast that with President Obama leaving Ms. Sherrod out to dry without a second thought.
For me it was a small but critical look at his Presidential character.
Please don't like to read....or listen for too long....Much easier to jump on the blame bandwagon than to take the time. We want too much too fast....
