Version 2.0

Culture, healing, politics and bullshit - Not necessarily in that order

The general, socio-political and very personal rantings and ravings of a hip hop head from the hood hustling for change... Of himself.

You all know me and are aware that I am unable to remain silent. At times to be silent is to lie. For silence can be interpreted as acquiescence.

The weekend after bird day always seems out of place, seeing as I
haven't been at the mill since Wednesday, but it's cool. I will get out
and snap some seasonals although the snow has melted. You learn a
lot
about yourself when you have spent as much time with yourself as I
did. Although I slept a lot, I got a chance to get to 'get closer' to
me without distractions. I need more spiritual guidance from
someone
that has 'been there'. Not that Pastor Wright isn't doing his job, I
see now that I need an Umi myself, and Mos won't share.

As I have aged into mid-30's I can no longer sometimes see the
future.
This indeed is uncharted territory. I worry not about love and
relationships, the concern is exactly where I'll be. The many times
I've turned down home ownership ops haunts me now. I didn't then
because of past relationships, and now I want to... But I can't, and I
need a base. Badly. I also have finally found my niche. I now know
what I want to be when I grow up. I just gotta finance it, and that
means quitting my job. Soon. I got the nerve, but do I have the car
payment?

I gotta let y'all know about the project. It was supposed to bow this
past fall, but to no avail. I had to let go of my past and some of the
people, places and things that drove it. I have scabs because of this,
which means I am still healing. The project consists of music and
images and the final product had a lot to do with what I saw and felt,
I realized that my muse at the time pointed me to 'other things' that
my heart and my inner artist told me not to do. So it's still a work
in progress.

I will post photo albums here on the site. I'd like to cook for y'all,
and I hope you like to get full. Having digi (that's digital y'all)
affords me to snap a lot of pix, and seeing that a picture is worth
those thousand words, I'll include phrases for you as well. My man DJ
Morning man will do the mixtape thing for us, as well as some of my
original works that I have been afraid to put out. Think of this as
therapy for me. I have closed myself from the world (again) ad in that
time I composed. Words, music, pictures. In order for me to move
forward, I must share with you. I hope you continue to visit. I got a
lot of ish for ya. Enuff bout' me...

And speaking of mixtapes, 2005 will be the year of the mixtape. I've
noticed a lot of future dated releases in the majors category listed
as mixtapes. Good. Folks like James Brown used to and now Prince
release a lot of music. Getting control of ones intellectual property
is the only way to move good product. You sweat, you prosper (minus
pressing and distribution, of course). Morning Man is coming soon!
Renowned Dj/Producer Morning Man out of the Chi will be providing
musical accompiament to the site. He'll drop some gems on a not
quite
agreed to "regular" basis. The cat is top of the pops. Ask Leon. Beg
him to do a mixshow with me weekly, I'll help.
